Chaz Bono Ties the Knot With Longtime Partner at 57

A recent Hollywood wedding drew attention from fans after Chaz Bono, the son of legendary singer Cher, married his longtime partner Shara Blue Mathes on March 8, 2026. The ceremony took place at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles and featured a “Hollywood Glam Formal” theme. With candlelit aisles and elegant floral arrangements, the celebration had the atmosphere of a classic Hollywood premiere.

For Chaz and Shara, the wedding marked the continuation of a love story that began decades ago. The two first met as teenagers while studying acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. Although their lives later took different paths, they stayed in contact and eventually reconnected as adults. Their relationship officially rekindled in 2017, and since then the couple has often spoken about the rare nature of finding love again with someone from their early years.

The ceremony blended timeless style with personal touches. Chaz wore a classic tuxedo with a purple calla lily boutonnière, while Shara walked down the aisle in a long-sleeved lace gown and carried a bouquet of deep purple orchids. Romantic candlelight and dark floral arrangements created an intimate setting for their vows.

Among the guests was Cher, who proudly watched from the front row as the couple exchanged vows. After more than four decades since their first meeting, Chaz and Shara’s wedding celebrated not only romance but also a lasting friendship and a shared future together.
