Tayt Andersen, a young man who touched millions of hearts as a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, has died at the age of 19 following a long and courageous fight with cancer and a severe congenital heart condition. His family confirmed his passing on September 26, 2025.
Born with only the right side of his heart, Tayt faced extraordinary challenges from the very beginning. By age nine, he had undergone 12 surgeries. At ten years old, he received a heart transplant, a procedure that gave him new hope but also led to post-transplant lymphoma during his teen years. In 2024, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer, which later spread to his spine, pelvis, chest, and neck. Despite these hardships, Tayt continued to inspire all who knew his story.
Doctors originally said he would not survive past three months, yet Tayt lived nearly two decades filled with love, laughter, and courage. His family shared through a heartfelt tribute: “While our souls feel shattered and lost by this unimaginable grief, we are so thankful that Tayt is finally free.
