Prince William is reportedly feeling negative about thepossibility that King Charles might meet with Prince Harry in the coming days, according to a friend.
On September 8, Harry – who stepped away from royal duties in 2020 – will be in the UK for the 2025 WellChild Awards, a charity he serves as patron of. During his stay in the UK, Harry is expected to potentially meet with his father, though this hasn’t been officially confirmed.
If this encounter happens, it would mark the first time the duo would have seen each other since February 2024, with tensions between Harry and his royal family members believed to be continuing. While the King may be reportedly receptive to the possibility of a meeting, the same can’t be said for Prinve willan, who hasn’t been speaking with his younger brother Harry for quite some time.
Though William, 43, may have reportedly turned down the opportunity to see Harry, 40, during his forthcoming visit, he reportedly honors the King’s authority to make his own choices regarding his relationship with his youngest son.

As reported by The Daily Beast, a friend of William told The Royalist this week that William believes the meeting is a “terrible idea.” The friend said, “Ultimately, William is a loyal soldier. He respects his father’s rank, and he respects his father’s right to make his own decisions, and he won’t make a fuss if it happens.”
The source continued, “But he (William) thinks a Harry meeting is a terrible, terrible idea.” William has yet to officially comment on the reported rift with his brother, or Harry’s impending visit to the UK.
The monarch has also refrained from commenting on the situation, and it remains unconfirmed whether he will meet with his youngest son next week, reports The express. It’s speculated that Charles and Harry have had a rocky relationship of late, with Harry revealing to the BBC in May that his father “won’t speak” to him.
